Brookline, at the western edge of Boston near the Back Bay, Copley Square & Longwood Medical Center, is a great location for guests who like quiet, need parking, yet want access to central Boston and its subway system.
 
BROOKLINE HILLS
TREEHOUSE--Meg’s contemporary 4-level town house in a quiet neighborhood on a shady hill has traditional decor, glass walls, balcony, and an inspiring winter view.  The entrance is at the 3rd level and guest rooms are one flight up seeming to be in the treetops. There are three guest rooms: Queen with connecting shower bath and Double and Twins that share a hall bath (tub & shower). Each room has air conditioning and a TV. A Twin aero bed is available to use in either the Twin or Queen room. Walk three blocks to Beacon Street village restaurants and Green Line C trolley with a 10 min. ride to Boston Univ., Back Bay, Hynes Convention Center, and Berklee College. One mile to Boston College. Use nearby Green line D for short trip to Longwood medical center hospitals. (NS, PB, SB, TV, DSL, Pk, a/c) $95/SB     $110-$120/PB

 
BROOKLINE
BEACON ST. VICTORIAN--Host's restored Victorian townhouse c. 1890 offers a great location between Cleveland Circle and Washington Square. Tucked in second floor rear wing is a guest room (2-person limit) with two beds (Queen and one Twin). The guest bath with soaking tub and shower is across the hall. Breakfast is served in the spacious first floor fireplaced dining room with a comfortable sitting area. DSL for your computer connection is available at the kitchen table or there is also wifi. Parking is in the designated space in the alley behind the home. Walk to a choice of restaurants. The Green Line-C trolley stops in front of the townhouse. 15 –20 min. ride direct to the Back Bay, Hynes Convention Center, Copley Square and Boston University. Or a short ride in the other direction to the edge of Boston College. (NS, PB, TV, a/c, DSL, Pk) $115-$125

 
BROOKLINE (Brookline Village)
BROOKLINE VILLAGE FLAT--The third floor of this large Queen Anne Stick-style Victorian single-family home (ca. 1880) sports a bright, self-contained 3-room apartment.  The flat is accessed through the hosts’ front entrance, up two flights of carpeted stairs and has its own private entryway. There is a skylit hallway, which is contiguous with a sunny study area complete with a desk, futon /couch and TV. The large bedroom has a double bed and full-size closet. The bathroom, also with skylight, has a stall shower. Your large eat-in, fully-equipped kitchen has a washer and dryer and doorway access to an outside fire escape. The house itself is located on a quiet, shady, residential street, within walking distance to the Longwood Medical area, nearby colleges, Museum of Fine Arts, Gardner Museum, many restaurants and shops including grocers where you can stock up for your own breakfasts or other meals. Public transportation is a 10-15 min. walk to either Green Line-D or –C, with a 15 min. ride into the heart of Boston. Just 2 blocks away busses run frequently across the Charles River direct to Harvard Square in Cambridge. A 2-year-old dog (lab/hound mix) is in residence. Parking for one guest car. BROOKLINE (Coolidge Corner)
CITYSIDE--Overlooking a pleasant street only 2 blocks from Coolidge Corner shops and restaurants is this host's brownstone built in 1914.  One flight of outside stairs leads to the first floor where your welcoming host maintains spotless guest quarters. The interior was recently redecorated and modernized with central air conditioning, cable TV, and 2 new baths (in the hall) for each of the two bedrooms. The bedrooms each have a Queen-size poster bed and new flat-screen TV. One bed is quite high and requires a small step stool to climb up onto. Guests are welcome to make a cup of tea in the kitchen, use the microwave or keep something cold in the refrigerator. Guests are also welcome in the living room. Please note that there are no arrangements here for children. A car is not necessary at this location, however if you need parking there is a city lot a couple of blocks away that charges $10/night. From here you are a 5 min. walk to the Beacon Street Green Line-C with a 15 minute ride into central Boston. A nearby bus takes you directly into Harvard Square in Cambridge. Walk to Boston University, Longwood medical area, Fenway colleges, JFK birthplace and Museum of Fine Arts. (NS, PB, a/c, Wifi, TV) $120-$135

OLD STONE PORCH--Hosts' immense turn-of-the-century Victorian c. 1895 is minutes from downtown Boston & Cambridge. Two guest rooms (Twins & Double) on 2nd floor share hall bath. (3rd Sgl Rm, if all same party). Commodious 2nd floor guest parlor with TV/vcr. Breakfast in kitchen or on porch or garden deck. Guests love to have their picture taken by the fountain in the prized French garden. 2 blocks to Green Line-C. 5 min. into Back Bay. Walk to Boston University, village & many restaurants.
