LA MAISON--French country antiques and decor throughout lend an atmosphere of elegance to your artisan-host’s sprawling Cape home backed by a wooded preservation area. Guest rooms are on the 2nd floor. The host's spacious master suite has a canopied Queen bed, sitting area with chaise, desk and en suite full bath. The very large Wicker Room has a Double bed, sitting area and private bath just outside in the hall. There is also a small room with a single sleigh bed for an additional guest if with the Wicker room party. Guests are welcome in the living room and on the patio. Quiet resident Scottish Terrier. 10 min. drive to Wellesley and Babson Colleges. Short drive to choice of restaurants, subway or train stations, shops. Easy drive to Newton, Natick, and Framingham via Rte. 9. (NS, PB, TV, a/c, Pk, phone) $100-$120
 
 
WELLESLEY
HEIRLOOM SUITE--This circa 1940 Cape Cod home was updated and enlarged in 1999, providing a very private 2nd floor for guests. Two large bedrooms are connected by a skylighted bath and a half. One room has one twin bed a single sofa/bed. The other has an historic Queen-sized bed that belonged to General Stonewall Jackson and his wife, Anna, an heirloom that has passed down through three generations in the family. The walls are covered with antique maps. Your host, a designer of needlework, has lived in various places overseas, travels extensively and has collected exotic treasures along the way. The lawn, garden, deck, and living room are open to guests. Walk to local shops, restaurants. Babson college, Wellesley college and train to Boston are approx. a mile away. Boston College via Rte. 9 East is about 15 minutes, Natick and Framingham via Rte. 9 West a 10 minute drive. (NS, PB, TV, a/c, Pk, phone) $100-$120 one room, $160-$180 both rooms
